The Karur Vysya Bank Limited, popularly known as KVB, was created in 1916 by M.A Venkatarama Chettiar and Athi Krishna Chettiar, to capitalize on the traders and farmers market in Karur, a city in Tamil Nadu. Origins:

Although the bank started with initial capital of ₹ 1 lakh, as with most banks, seed capital has grown, as do services sold. The bank is managed and guided by the Board of Directors of different areas.

Realizing that there is more money elsewhere, the bank expanded out of Karur and established approximately 668 branches in other states and territories of the Union in order to gain a pan-Indian presence.

Shri K.K. Balu was appointed Additional Director of the Bank on January 27, 2012.
