THE SHAMRAO VITHAL COOPERATIVE BANK
The Shamrao Vithal Cooperative. Bank Ltd. (SVC Bank), established in 1906, is one of the oldest of the Urban Cooperative Bank of India. The bank was founded when cooperation began in the country. It was created with the main objective of helping the less fortunate members of the community in their economic enterprises. This was also to encourage savings and create funds to provide financial assistance to deserving members.
Rao Bahadur Shripad Subbarao Talmaki was the Bank's chief architect. The Bank was originally registered as a Cooperative Credit Society on December 27, 1906.
